Maritimo draws 1-1 with Amadora in Portuguese league
LISBON, Portugal: Second-placed Maritimo drew 1-1 with Amadora on Sunday and slipped five points off the lead of the Portuguese league.
Maritimo fell behind in the 47th when Tiago Gomes scored from Rui Duarte's cross from the right.
With Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari watching from the stand, Fernando equalized for the visitors 12 minutes later after the ball fell to him from Marcinho's shot.
Defending champion FC Porto tops the standings with 18 points, while Maritimo has 13. Guimaraes has 12, while Sporting Lisbon has 11.
Other sixth-round results were: Guimaraes 1, Braga 0; Setubal 2, Leiria 0; Nacional 2, Naval 0; and Belenenses 1, Pacos Ferreira 0.
Pedro Geromel's 51st-minute header gave Guimaraes a slender win over Braga and lifted his team into third place.
Belenenses' victory over winless Pacos Ferreira came from Evandro Roncatto's shot in the 43rd minute.
Leiria also remained without a victory this season after falling 2-0 on its visit to Setubal.
Matheus headed home on the hour, with Edinho firing the second just before the final whistle.
Nacional beat last-place Naval for its first victory of the season.
Fellype Gabriel opened the scoring in the 49th, with Cassio sealing the win in injury time.
On Saturday, American midfielder Freddy Adu made his league debut as a late substitute in Benfica's 0-0 draw with Sporting, while Porto beat Boavista 2-0 and maintained its perfect start to the league season.
