Mike Tyson reports to jail to serve 1-day sentence
PHOENIX: Mike Tyson reported to jail Tuesday to serve his one-day sentence for a DUI conviction.
The former heavyweight champion will be at Tent City, an open-air jail near a dog pound and junk yard.
Tyson pleaded guilty in September to one count of felony cocaine possession and one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence. The 41-year-old boxer was sentenced to one day in jail for the DUI charge and to three years' probation for the drug charge.
The charges stem from his arrest last year after he left a Scottsdale club. Officers saw Tyson driving erratically, stopped his car and found baggies of cocaine in his pocket and car.
